- Attempt every question. A blank answer guarantees zero marks; a guessed answer has a real (if partial) chance of scoring.
- Never leave numerical questions half-solved out of fear. Even an educated estimate beats an omission.
- Time-box uncertain questions rather than skipping them — mark, move on, and return if time allows, but always fill something in before the session ends.

To clear CMA Foundation, a candidate must satisfy two separate conditions simultaneously:
- Minimum 40% marks in each of the four papers individually.
- Minimum 50% aggregate across all four papers combined (i.e., 200 out of 400 total marks).

No Exemption or Carry-Forward at Foundation Level
Unlike CMA Intermediate (where scoring 60%+ in an individual paper can earn a carry-forward exemption if you don’t clear the full group), CMA Foundation has no such exemption system. If you don’t clear the exam in a given attempt, you reappear for all four papers again in the next session — there’s no partial credit carried forward from a strong individual paper.
